Tired Budgie
Overview
Tired Budgie is a simple Pomodoro timer Chrome extension. We believe in privacy by design and collect no personal data.
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All data stays on your device.
What Data is Stored
The extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:
- Timer settings - Your preferred focus duration, break duration, and long break duration
- Preferences - Sound on/off, notification on/off, auto-start setting, tab warning threshold
- Session statistics - Number of completed focus sessions per day (last 7 days only)
- Timer state - Current timer status to maintain state between popup opens
This data never leaves your browser and is not accessible to us or any third party.
Permissions Explained
The extension requests these Chrome permissions:
- alarms - To run the Pomodoro timer and trigger break reminders
- tabs - To count open tabs and warn you when you have too many (we don't read tab content or URLs)
- storage - To save your settings locally on your device
- notifications - To show break reminders even when the popup is closed
What We Don't Do
- We don't collect personal information
- We don't track your browsing history
- We don't read the content of your tabs
- We don't use analytics or tracking in the extension
- We don't send any data to external servers
- We don't use cookies in the extension
- We don't sell or share any data (because we don't have any)
Website Analytics
Our website (tiredbudgie.com) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. This is separate from the extension and only applies to the website. The website asks for cookie consent before loading analytics.
Children's Privacy
Tired Budgie does not knowingly collect any information from children. The extension works entirely offline and stores no personal data.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Since we don't collect user data, we have no way to notify you directly of changes.
